The industrial Group MTorres has been awarded with the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade with the Prince Felipe for Business Excellence within the Technological Innovation Section for “its high level of innovation and investment in I+D in its thirty years of existence which has located itself at the forefront of technology becoming an international reference in the markets where it operates”.

According to the jury statement, the universal system of support TORRESTOOL is one of the most successful developments of the history of the company. TORRESTOOL allows the adaptation to any kind of piece, whereas other systems are not universal and require the elaboration of specific tools for the fastening and positioning of each piece”.

The award ceremony took place on April 10th 2007 at the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade in Madrid, and was chaired by H.R.H Prince of Asturias. The Prince Felipe gave the award, that contains his name, to Manuel Torres, president of MTorres, and affirmed that the company is an “international reference in the world of design, development and manufacture automation systems of industrial processes”.

Manuel Torres was totally satisfied and happy with the award and declared that this high distinction represents “a pride for all our company and an incentive to continue investigating in our aeronautical projects with the new Airbus and Boeing 787”.


The Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce summons this awards, nowadays the XI Edition, with the purpose of recognizing the merit and prestige of the Spanish companies that have made an important effort to improve their competitivity. Also it pretends to encourage other companies to continue working with the aim to achieve the excellence in business.

The award, the most prestigious prize to the excellence in business in Spain, has a tradition that goes back to 1993.
