The work developed by MTorres, "Small lectures, great lessons", received yesterday the third prize in the category "Best practice of Health and Safety management", granted by the insurance company Asepeyo, during the Fifth Edition of the contest on Health and Safety . The event was chaired by the Spanish Minister of Employment and Social Insurance System, Fatima Báñez.

The work of MTorres was selected from a total of 94 proposals sent by different companies. This included the meetings promoted by the Department of Health & Safety with the staff of Production and Application Technicians. The meetings began in October 2014 with the aim of sensitizing and informing employees about lessons learned after some incidents, new developments in H&S, improvements, available equipment, etc. Currently, the talks take place every two weeks with the Production, H&S and Environment technicians as main speakers.


Apart from MTorres, another eleven companies were recognized for their projects in the field of Helath & Safety and their improvements aimed anticipating accidents and illness.


Other winners were:

• ‘Best practice of risk control’ Category: first prize to Metro de Madrid; Second prize ex aequo to PPG Ibérica and Ramondin Capsules; and third prize to Aluminum and Alloys.

• 'Best practice in Health and Safety management' Category: first prize to Josel, SLU (Núñez and Navarro); Second prize to Maxion Wheels Spain; and third prize ex aequo to M. Torres Diseños Industriales SAU and Coca Cola European Partners Iberia (Norbega).


Marta García, head of the Health & Safety department, and Carlos Sánchez, H&S engineer, collected the award at the event organized at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.
