Every September a new challenge is released and the FLL teams from around the world start together a new adventure. Then, during several months of work, they must score points on a theme playing field by building and programming a robot using engineering concepts and researching to draf the scientific project that they have to present to a jury.
This tournament is hold every year since 1998 to engage children in research, solving problems, and engineering. Currently 240,000 school children participate, the same categorised into 30,000 teams from around the world.
The natural curiosity and creativity that boys and girls have got are basic qualities in order to develop new opportunities and find innovative solutions to real problems that actually change technology.
They form a team and work on solving challenges with the help of a trainer. They honour the spirit of a friendly competition and what they discover is far more important than what they win, as they share their experiences with others. They show a level of gracious professionalism in all that they do and, above all, they have fun!
